Hockney Discovers Secret

I found the Hockney site interesting. Sometimes when we involve new technology into our art making, we feel a little bit like a cheat. Until recently, I was thinking that this was a reaction unique to recent decades. Further thought, however, led me to remember that technology has always been present and that art and technology have always had sort of a dance with each other. Hockney's vids about the camera obscura bring up a question of whether visual arts are a reaction to technology or whether technology a product of the need to create.
