Mr. Kerr will speak about the giclee process, an archival digital printmaking technique. Mr. Kerr is recognized in the national and international fine art marketplace for his work replicating original art to museum quality standards. In March of this year he had the distinction of reproducing, in his Davidson studio, a 17th century painting from the permanent collection of the Louvre in Paris. (Artist Simon Vouet's, "Prudence Leading Peace and Abundance" circa 1645, oil on canvas.)

Mr. Kerr used the giclee process to reproduce and print the watercolor of the Mauldin gardens which once were at the back of the clubhouse, the Armstrong-Mauldin house. Signed and numbered by the artist, Joyce Netzler, the prints will be on display along with the original painting. The prints will be available at this event for $75.00 each.
The Woman's Club is in the process of having the gardens restored. They will feature a pergola, reflecting pool and lily pond in addition to the surrounding gardens which were originally designed by Mrs. Mauldin in the early 1930's.

Tax deductible contributions will be accepted for the Mauldin Gardens Restoration Project after the lecture.
