Robert Rauschenberg dies at 82

Robert Rauschenberg dies at the age of 82 on May 14th. Known for combining found objects into otherwise flat designs (appropriately named "combines") and for his use of image transferring, Robert Rauschenberg was an inspiration for me as well as many lessons that I have taught. His combines challenged artists to define the differences between sculpture and 2-D work. His transfer method inspired the Liquitex and Citra-Solv transferring that I, admittedly, press on the students.
Rauschenberg was known for combining many different mediums together on one composition just has he is known for being an artist of many different medias.
