Pop-ups on RobertSabuda.com

Also known as paper engineering, this a pretty cool way of blending 2-D design with sculpture. This is also an extremely inexpensive way of creating art. Teachers who say they need a whole lot of money to produce good art don't really have leg to stand on with this form.

At RobertSabuda.com, there is a variety of information on the art form that includes student work from the Pratt Institute, how-to's and professional work. One professional shown is Luciana Mancosu. (see image on right)

A Japanese artist, Yasushi Shibata, has also created some incredibly detailed pieces.

This is a somewhat different post that I made about a year go about Chris Natrop. Click to see his intricate web-like paper designs.
