Simon Schubert

This is Simon Schubert... Paper FOLDING artist. A little different than paper cutting, which is of course our latest prompt...but still. Awesome. Notice the mirrors even... I"ll add a link to more of his pieces. CHECK IT OUT GUYS!

  1. Nice job finding another paper artist. I'll remember this name for the future. Although a different process, the product reminds me of collagraphy. Collagraphy is popularly done by gluing matt board (or similar flat material) to a surface in a design, placing damp paper on top, and running it through a press. Artists often further develop the product by adding color the to embossed surface.

  2. Judy and I were actually talking about how maybe he might not be an actual Paper "folder" that he did the paper press thing and then people saw it and were like, holy crow I think he folded that paper. That maybe it was gossip. I mean, it doesn't look like he folded the paper up, it isn't crinkled... what do you think? Do you think it's folded or pressed?

  3. Good question. uhm... folded, not emossed.
