What is the Artistic Infusion Program?

The Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) is a United States Mint program which enlists professional artists to submit designs for the next generation of American coins. Artists may be asked to submit several designs throughout the year. Artists of selected designs are named as designer in historical documents, Certificates of Authenticity and promotional materials. The artists' initials are also featured on the coins, which can remain in circulation for several decades. Artists may work from anywhere and will receive $2,000 for each assigned design submission and an additional $5,000 for each design selected for a coin.... (more)
