Melanie Marquez

This is Marquez's "Melanie's Mystique.

This is an encaustic painting on canvas, it's supposed to be a self-portrait. She emphasizes the female form without adding hands, feet, or faces to most of her pieces, to  show the elegance of women.

I love it, mostly because it's so similar to the idea I have for our next assignment. My theme is strength in women, so I know I want to keep it simple and elegant. Using her "feel" would be a good way to do that!

  1. Nice find. This seems like your style. Awesome how you researched someone and will try to apply the artist to your next piece. If it works, great. If not, still great.
