This painting by Thomas Stewart’s, a 1792 portrait of the cross-dressing Chevalier d’Eon. It was thought it was a painting of a woman until recently it was discovered its a painting of a guy dressed in a dress and with a woman's wig. It was bought by London’s National Portrait Gallery. This painting was discovered last November in a salesroom in upstate New York by art dealer Philip Mould.
