Mostly everyone knows about Egypt. The pyramids, Pharohs, etc. But, not everyone knows about their art. The Egyptians had a certain way of expressing their art though. Mostly through portraits. To them, the portraits were sense of respect,in a way. They painted pictures of Pharohs and Gods on the pyramid walls. They showed that the Pharohs were more than just man. He was a higher being, a ruler of them all. Just like a god. The Gods were represented in a different way. They were a divine power ruler of everything in Egypt, including the Pharohs. Today, the Egyptian art is still praised upon but is also taken in a different point of view.

Their use of portraits as a form of showing respect is interesting; It's something that most cultures still do today. At funerals, you ee blown-up photos, you see a milion pictures of the president, celebrities, and cultural figures.
