These are pictures of interference paint on paper. Interference is mostly produced by the brand GOLDEN and this paint has some really awesome qualities!  It gives off a kind of shine or sparkle different from other paints and is slightly transparent.  Often, the paint in the tube is a different color than from what goes on paper; and the colors of interference paint are brought out best by black paper.  Using this paint gives a really cool effect to paintings, however, because it is so cool it is often hard to use in moderation (but less is always more!).

The first painting doesn't highlight the interference paint used in the water.  The second painting, however, was shifted slightly different under the light than the first and shows how interference can illuminate parts of the painting.  The second piece also shows poor use of moderation.:) Painting credits to CarolineM.
