Katsushika Hokusai was a splendid Japanese art printer and painter who lived from 1760 to 1849. He is best known for his piece called "The Great Wave." Hokusai influenced artists Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. His use of non-vibrant color schemes are prevalent throughout most of his pieces.
