High school students nationwide submit their works to the Scholastic Art Awards that is put on by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers organization. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 9, 2008. Art submission categories vary but include photography, digital art, painting and drawing.
Several of you are absolutely awesome photographers and don't get the exposure (no pun intended) that you deserve. Awards include scholarship money and national recognition.
Photography requirements include 8 pieces printed, and artist statement and a cd of the work.
Former Award recipients include Andy Warhol, Truman Capote and Sylvia Plath.
