Giedo van der Zwan
This photograph was taken by National Geographic photographer named Giedo van der Zwan. He took this image in the southwest of Serengeti, Tanzania. As a photographer, I'm usually interested in black and white photos because not only does the absence of color intensify what ever mood you were shooting for; but for me it is the one of many things that makes photos interesting. With the absence of color, there is only a limited amount of things in the image that can 'make' what you have taken interesting. For me, photos that have a bit of mystery are the most interesting ones. I chose the photo above because it not only is centered right in the middle; but that fact doesn't steal away from the emotion the photographer was trying to capture.
