To celebrate the much anticipated start of the 2008 Euro Cup, the Vienna Museum has installed a scene of Giant Soccer Shoes and a match ball. I could not find a credited artist, but the influence of Claes Oldenburg is obvious. The three other images are a large spoon with a cherry (sculpture garden in Minnesotta), a shuttlecock (Missouri), and a saw sawing (Tokyo). All of the sculptures must be a relief to people who are sick of pretentious critics who really understand the "deeper meaning." What do you think?
